About the Foundation

Rooted in faith,
devoted to families.

The Grand Oak Communities Foundation exists to walk alongside foster children, foster families, foster adoptive families, and young adults transitioning out of care — practically, personally, and for the long haul.

Our Mission

A calling, not just a cause.

Our work is rooted in the biblical calling found in James 1:27a — “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows.” We believe every child deserves to be known, celebrated, and supported — not only while they are in care, but long after.

Who We Serve

Four communities, one promise.

Foster Children

From school supplies to birthday and Christmas celebrations, we make sure children in care feel seen, valued, and loved.

Foster Families

We come alongside the families who say yes — with emergency assistance, practical support, and encouragement.

Foster Adoptive Families

Adoption is a beautiful beginning, not an ending. We support adoptive families as they build lasting bonds.

Young Adults Transitioning Out of Care

Through scholarships, housing support, career readiness, and mentorship, we help young adults launch into independent life.

Our Story

Born out of Grand Oak Communities.

The Grand Oak Communities Foundation grew out of the work of Grand Oak Communities, whose daily service to foster and adoptive families revealed needs that went beyond any program or facility. The Foundation was established to meet those needs — and to invite the wider community to help. The Foundation operates as a d/b/a of the MiTio Foundation, a registered nonprofit organization.
